30th MAY: KNOW YOURSELF AND UNDERSTAND YOUR STUDENTS FOR EFFECTIVE TEACHING:

On 30th May 2024, a seminar titled “Know Yourself and Understand your students for Effective Teaching” was organized for teachers, featuring Rev Sr. Dr. Shobana Michael as the resource person. Sister is a renowned psychologist and the counsellor of our school. She emphasized the importance of maintaining a positive attitude and liberating oneself to better guide and liberate the students under our care. Sister stressed the development of positive mindset, encouraging teachers to help students shift their focus from what is not working to what is working, thus adding them in reaching their full potential. She elaborated on the significance of self-awareness and emotional awareness and highlighted the importance of a strong teacher – student relationship, along with the 4 C’s – Clarifying, Connecting, Creating and Coping, and 4F’s – Find – your purpose, Forgive – your past, Focus – on your present and Fuel – your future and the C5 complex – Clear vision, Concise, Compelling, Committed and Consistent to supercharge your daily planning. Additionally, sister recommended that teachers conduct a SWOT analysis of the institution to know more about their strength and weakness as a part of the institution. She also shared strategies to boost happy hormones and create a positive learning environment and highlighted the need for continuous learning and adaptation. To foster rapport with students, Sister introduced three techniques: “Wonderful Child,” “Softener,” and “Smile.” Sister emphasized the importance of aligning their Thoughts, Words and Actions. The session was highly beneficial and informative.
