Innovative Assessment and Evaluation Practices for Holistic Education
Mangai, Primary Coordinator, and Ms. Jamuna, Academic Coordinator, facilitated a Peer Learning Seminar on “Assessment and Evaluation Practices.” The session emphasized the importance of assessment for learning, assessment as learning, and evaluation of learning in promoting holistic development.
On 26th May 2026, Ms. Mangai, Primary Coordinator, and Ms. Jamuna, Academic Coordinator, facilitated a Peer Learning Seminar on “Assessment and Evaluation Practices.” The session emphasized the importance of assessment for learning, assessment as learning, and evaluation of learning in promoting holistic development. Teachers were introduced to innovative assessment tools such as 360-degree assessment, portfolio-based evaluation, self, peer, parental, and teacher assessment, along with multiple intelligences and diverse learning styles. Interactive activities and a detailed question paper typology analysis enhanced participants’ understanding of learner- centred and competency-based assessment practices. The resource persons also underscored the significance of mainstreaming Physical Education across academic disciplines, highlighting its role in nurturing collaboration, creativity, critical thinking, communication, and overall well-being.
